Recipe of the Week: Ginger Hoisin Salmon Wraps With Sesame Mayo Slaw

This is our new recipe of the week. This dish is a delicious wrap with salmon with spinach and a mix of cabbage and onions with hoisin sauce. This meal is a wonderful choice that inspires joy for both lunch and dinner. Have a look at the recipes below and make them as part of your healthy balanced meals!

Cook Time: 10-20 minutes
Dietary: Dairy-Free, Pescatarian
Allergens: Gluten, egg, fish, soya and sesame

You will need: vegetable oil (substitute: coconut oil or olive oil) and a microwave

Remember: Wash your fresh fruit, herbs and vegetables.

Ingredients
  • Black sesame seeds (5g)
  • Carrot & cabbage slaw mix (160g)
  • Crispy onions (15g)
  • Ginger paste (15g)
  • Hoisin sauce (40g)
  • Mayonnaise (50ml)
  • Mayonnaise (30ml)
  • Plain tortillas (6pcs)
  • rice vinegar (15ml)
  • Salmon fillets (1pcs)
  • Salmon fillets (2pcs)
  • Soy sauce (8ml)
  • Spinach (80g)
  • Spring onion (1pcs)
  • Toasted sesame oil (10ml)
  • Toasted sesame seeds (5g)

Instructions

  1. Heat a large, wide-based pan option (non-stick) with a drizzle of olive oil over a medium-high heat. Once hot, add your salmon fillets, skin-side down, then cook for 9-10 minutes, turning once halfway or until cooked.

  2. While salmon is cooking, combine your ginger paste and hoisin sauce in a bowl with your soy sauce. And give everything a good mix-up. t. 

  3. Combine your mayo and toasted sesame oil in a large bowl with your rice vinegar and a pinch of salt. 

  4.  Add your carrot & cabbage slaw mix to the sesame mayo and mix it all together. Trim and then slice your spring onions. Wash your spinach and pat it dry with kitchen paper.

  1. Once the salmon is cooked through, peel the skin off the salmon and discard, then add the hoisin sauce glaze to the pan and cook for 30 seconds or until fragrant. Break the cooked salmon apart into bite-sized pieces with a wooden spoon and give everything a good mix up.

  2. Sprinkle your toasted sesame seeds and black sesame seeds over the salmon.

  3. Add your tortillas to a plate and pop in the microwave for 20 seconds on high or until warmed through.

  4. Load up the warmed tortillas with the spinach, sesame mayo slaw and the ginger hoisin salmon. Garnish with your crispy onions and chopped spring onion
