What is Fitness Pilates?
Fitness Pilates is a group exercise that focuses on the body as a human kinetic chain. By applying the fundamental Pilates technique and exercises, Fitness Pilates aims to offset musculoskeletal imbalances, mobility, flexibility, core strength and function in a non-intimidating, highly accessible and enjoyable way. Fitness Pilates aims to identify basic postural imbalances through Pilates-based exercise:

  • Imbalance of muscular balance and strength
  • Improve your posture​
  • Mobility and flexibility
  • Mental cognition
  • Core and back strength
  • Increased flexibility and strength of lumbar, thoracic and cervical spine
  • Maintaining stabilisation of the core muscles
Please note that this class is not appropriate for people with diagnosed severe back problems or joint problems depending on the condition and this is not a pre/post-natal pregnancy-friendly exercise.

"I injured my left knee during 10k training three years ago. I was unable to do high-impact exercises, running or jumping, which can make my knee worse. I have been to the Physio and was given the knee stability exercises to do and plenty of rest. I found Pilates exercises for the lower body and specifically for knee stability as part of my recovery. I started to train Pilates and mobility exercises that made a difference in my left knee overall.
